The USCG Reads Across America with United Through Reading

This year, on March 2, service members near and far were grabbing their Cat-in-the-Hat hats, succumbing to hat hair, and navigating the tongue twisting rhymes of the beloved Dr. Seuss. Why? It was the National Education Association’s Read Across America day and they read to honor the famous children’s author and help encourage every child, in every community, to celebrate reading on this special day.Admiral Zukunft RAA 2015

Among those adorning the striped crown of Dr. Seuss was US Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Paul ZukunftUS Coast Guard Ombudsman at Large Fran DeNinno-Zukunft and Chaplain of the Coast Guard, Captain Gregory Todd, who took turns in front of the camera at the US Coast Guard hosted UTR/Read Across America kickoff event to read to their loved ones. In fact, the USCG even wrote a blog about the fun they had reading.
