San Diego Business JournalThe two abiding interests of my professional life have been business (entrepreneurship) and business publishing and journalism.
Shortly after finishing graduate school I launched my journalism career as a stringer for a daily newspaper in Central California. Almost simultaneously, I launched my business career with my first entrepreneurial venture; a publishing company serving the corporate communications needs of foreign-based companies doing business in the U.S.
Since that time my career has been marked by these two distinct interests as I have continually worked as a business journalist and publisher while pursuing a variety of entrepreneurial investments in publishing, research and development, education, aviation and distribution.
I served as editor in chief of the San Diego Daily Transcript for seven years beginning in 1999. In February of 2006, I joined the San Diego Business Journal as Associate Publisher.
A Google search on my name will bring up more than a dozen pages listing the many community activities in which I have been engaged since coming to San Diego.
I currently serve on the board of directors of the Sydney Kimmel Cancer Center, United Through Reading and Kids Invent, Inc. and on the board of advisors of the Children’s Initiative, the San Diego Air & Space Museum, and Crossflo, Inc.
