Military Child Education Coalition
Military Child Education Coalition’s Growing, Learing, Understanding (GLU) Kits are designed to develop early literacy skills in children from birth through second grade. United Through Reading participants or caregivers may purchase these kits to further the educaitonal benefits of the storybook read by the deployed parent on DVD.

Nelson Publishing and Marketing has generously offered a 30% discount to United Through Reading participants on award winning titles such as Have You Filled Your Bucket Today? A Guide To Daily Happiness for Kids by Carol McCloud. Just enter “UTR” in the left corner of the shopping cart, and the discount will be applied automatically. Operation Thanksgiving Eagle
The mission of Operation Thanksgiving Eagle (OTE) is to thank children of the military for the daily sacrifices they make on behalf of our freedom. Through OTE, copies of the book It’s a Family Thanksgiving! are donated to children of the military around the globe. OTE also conducts pre-Thanksgiving educational events on military bases for children and their families and educators. This November, OTE will tour with the USO at U.S. military bases in Germany, reaching over 4,000 children.
