Founded in 1989, United Through Reading is a non-profit 501(c)(3)
public benefit organization.
"As an educator and reading
specialist, I realize that schools
cannot fulfill all of children's
educational and emotional needs.
United Through Reading was
founded in 1989 with a preventive
goal to re-institutionalize reading
aloud with children in homes
and communities.
Reading aloud instills the joy
of reading and allows for meaningful
communication that enhances self-esteem
and relationships. United Through Reading has served over 346,000
people through four community
outreach programs with student
and adult volunteers contributing
over 224,000 hours from the corporate,
social service, and educational
sectors.
I invite you to join us in our
mission. Together, we will continue
to make a positive difference
for children."
